Nurturing people and plants

We know that both nature and being outdoors are good for our wellbeing. At Helmsley Walled Garden we want everyone to feel the therapeutic benefit not only of gardening, but also of the beautiful environment created by our volunteers.

People can improve their mental and physical health through gardening, and spending time in a garden. Our garden is entirely maintained by a team of volunteers who are guided by trained horticulturalists. Each volunteer’s contribution, regardless of their background or abilities, plays a vital role in enhancing the garden’s beauty, and allows them to work towards a collective achievement.

Much more than just a beautiful garden

There is a depth to it, with a human connection that not every garden has which makes it very special. I will certainly visit again.

Horticultural Gem

Brilliant! Fascinating horticultural gem. How gardening should be done. Homage to the past.

Gorgeous walled garden. It's given us lots of ideas for our walled beds back home.
