Becoming a Volunteer

Helmsley Walled Garden is always looking for volunteers to help at the Admissions kiosk and in the garden.  We rely on the support of volunteers to welcome and assist visitors, help in the Plant Centre and Garden Shop, process our apple harvest and make our apple juice and put their gardening skills to use in helping to maintain the garden.

It is a great way to learn new skills – whether it is helping visitors to understand the history and purpose of the garden, how to look after vines or our magnificent Hot Border or learning how to make apple juice.

Our wonderful team of volunteers is enthusiastic, friendly and helpful – if you feel that you fit that description and would like to join us, please look at our pages on becoming a garden volunteer, becoming a visitor welcome volunteer and becoming a juicing volunteer. Whether you can work a morning a week or a day, every volunteer makes a difference. Thank you.
