We turn our apple harvest into juice to sell in our shop and showcase at our annual Apple Day. Juicing takes place on two days weekly from mid-August to the end of November and each session needs two to four people.
Day one is all about collecting and preparing the apples in the morning; the afternoon session is about pressing and tasting. Bottling and pasteurising takes place on day two. You don’t have to be gym fit but being practical and methodical helps. Some tasks can be done sitting down such as filling bottles and labelling.
