The Bothy

A bothy is a term for basic accommodation usually for gardeners or other workers on an estate. The Bothy at Helmsley originally provided accommodation for the head gardener. It was rebuilt during the restoration work and now provides simple but comfortable holiday accommodation.

The single story stone building overlooks open countryside. It is situated next to the walled garden and guests have free access to the garden during opening hours. Guests are also welcome to help in the garden as it relies on voluntary help to maintain its high standard.
